WABetaInfo has reported that WhatsApp has started rolling out an update to the WhatsApp Business Beta on Android. The update brings the Communities feature to the platform.
The feature is currently under beta testing and is expected to be rolled out soon. The update is rolling out through the Google Play Store Beta program and carries version 18.104.22.168, allowing merchants to create Communities on WhatsApp Business app.How Communities feature work on WhatsApp Business
As per the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, when users launch ‘Communities’, they will be able to view the list of all the communities they created and joined in the past.
This will also include all their subgroups and community announcement groups. Additionally, businesses will be able to create a new community right within this section as happens on the usual WhatsApp app.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also increased the limit of maximum photos and videos a user can send at a time. Previously, WhatsApp allowed users to share up to 30 media files but now users can send as many as 100 media files which includes both photos and videos.
For those unaware, WhatsApp Business is a dedicated version of the instant messaging platform designed to offer business-oriented features. The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms. However, it is important to highlight that the Communities feature is in beta testing and only available on Android as of now.
