As we have stepped into a new month, Google is back with another Play System Update. This update ensures that Android devices (including Samsung’s Galaxy lineup) are up-to-date with new features and tweaks every month, so they do not require a separate update from the smartphone maker. The February 2023 Google Play System Update brings improvements to the Play Store and Play Services, which are announced via monthly patch notes.
The most notable feature of this update is the ability to pin Nearby Share notifications to the screen when they pop up. This could be useful when frequently sharing files with the same devices. Additionally, the update introduces new developer features to support machine learning and AI-related services in apps. It also includes features to improve the discovery of apps and games, optimize the Play Store for faster and more reliable downloads and installations, enhance features for Play Protect, provide multiple bug fixes, and more.
The option to pin Nearby Share notifications and developer features to support machine learning and AI will be released through Google Play Services v04.23. All other features will be pushed via Google Play Store v34.3, which was released on February 1. The February 2023 Google Play System Update is currently in the rollout process and should reach your Galaxy phones and tablets soon.
