Here is how you can enable an unlimited 5G network on your Airtel SIM card.
To enable a truly unlimited Airtel 5G plan, one needs a smartphone that supports 5G connectivity, check for the Airtel Thanks app for the list of eligible devices. Do note that Airtel’s 5G network is available in limited areas and this offer is only applicable if you live in an area with Airtel 5G network access. Currently, Airtel offers its 5G network in 265 different cities across the country.
The next thing to do is download the My Airtel app, a free application available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Open the app and log in using your phone number. Once logged in, click on the banner that says “unlimited 5G data” and you can start accessing unlimited 5G data for streaming, downloading and uploading for free.
However, there is one prerequisite to getting free unlimited 5G data from Airtel. The company is offering unlimited 5G data only for those users who have an active prepaid or postpaid plan that costs Rs 239 or more per month. However, if you have recharged with a Rs 455 or Rs 1799 plan, you will not be eligible for the unlimited 5G data offer from Airtel.
The biggest catch of this offer is that you won’t be able to share your 5G data with a PC, laptop or tablet via mobile hotspot mode; the data has to be consumed on the smartphone itself.
