Though the Street Fighter 6 launch roster has been known for a while, there’s still much to learn about the new characters. Capcom put on a special showcase at the grand finals event for the Street Fighter League Pro-JP, revealing the first full competent match footage for Manon, Marisa, JP and Dee Jay, as well as Blanka and Dhalsim. This footage was shared online by AlphaDog.
The matches featured Dee Jay vs. Dhalsim, Manon vs. Marisa and JP vs. Blanka, so viewers got a good spread of the new characters. Manon has a unique mechanic that gains her levels for landing throws, which appears to power her command grabs up and possibly allows her to combo into them at higher levels. Marisa can continue pressing buttons after her diving attack and has a non-Critical Art version of her level 3 Super Art. JP fights with one hand typically kept behind his back, but makes up for that with his cane and long-range specials. Blanka’s EX roll appears to be completely projectile invincible, and his level 2 Super is similar to the V-Trigger 2 from Street Fighter 5. Dee Jay has everything from his old kits but powered up, and his Overdrive version is very fast. Dhalsim’s mobility may be even better than SF5, but his long limbs can still be punished.
We’ll have more in-depth breakdowns of what we’re seeing in these new matches, so stay tuned for more Street Fighter 6 coverage on EventHubs.
